DESERT ROSE

The beauty of the desert, is that somewhere it hides a well. I've read this from the Little Prince. I've learned to love the quiet and peace that envelops me whenever I'm in the midst of the desert. I can think well, do my prayer walk and praise our creator for the beauty of his creation by merely looking at the vastness of the desert.

I'm just a mere speck but I know in God's eyes, I'm not an accident. He created me for a purpose. Even here in the desert hospital, I know that somehow I give inspiration to my little patients and to their parents whenever I told them that I used to be a Cancer patient. Maybe seeing me working normally and in good health with cheerful disposition gave them Hope. I'm glad that in my own little way, I can inspire people who are suffering from the same disease. Maybe this is my calling for God to show His infinite Mercy. Yes, sickness happens so that God's glory can be manifested in our lives. I know that by now. It's been 6 years since I had my ...

Raising Children

I just want to share what I read from the book Chicken Soup for the Soul.

"Remember, we are raising children, not flowers. Let's remember that our children's spirits are more important than any material things. When we do, self esteem and love blossom and grow more beautifully than any bed of flowers ever could."

Yes indeed, children are God's greatest blessing. If we show them our love and care, for sure they will reciprocate by being a good daughter/son, a good citizen and a good person and loving God above all. Somewhere along the way, they could stumble and fall but we should be there to lift them up whenever it happens with our guidance prayng that with God's help we can raise them up well. Nothing is for certain but loving them unselfishly will not be in vain. A child who lives with joy and happiness will always find love and beauty in this sojourn called LIFE.

After staying in the home of my best friend in Christ Lyn Laya, we had an ocular inspection at the Plantation Bay Resort ( which is my dream place ). Afterwards we visited the shrine of Lapu-Lapu and Magellan who was supposedly killed by Lapu-Lapu ( my kids said he was actually killed by Lapu-Lapu's soldier & not him). Then we took our flight back to Manila thru Philippine Airlines. We really had a great time in Cebu City, the Queen City of the

We spent 2 days of September in Bolinao, Pangasinan at the Puerto Del Sol Resort/Hotel. The place was very beautiful ( 5 star resort) with it's beach front, large swimming pool and a trip to Enchanted Cave where we had a swim inside. It was a very relaxing week-end with my family. Then we went to Children's Island & Quezon Island. This is truly one of the best places I've seen so far. A National Heritage. We should always preserve Huindred

Hindi lang pala siya very beautiful physically, I find her very intelligent judging from what she wrote on her blogs. She seems to be very down to earth and a typical woman just like you and me.

Fan kasi ako ni Sharon Cuneta ( her Mom) from way back when I was younger. Imagine napanood ko lahat halos ng movies niya and sometimes her concerts as well. Can't help but try to see if there's any comparison between mother and daughter. Pareho naman silang very talented and articulate. Though some would say na medyo maarte si KC just like her Mom ( as commented by our Nurse here), but I vehemently disagreed. Dala lang ito ng youth ni KC at saka ganito naman mga kabataan ngayon, they are more expressive as I've observed with my two young daughters.

I've seen KC's drama tv series through TFC, and this girl can act.
WISHFUL THINKING

It's summer once again and how I missed being home with my family. We'd have been to places where we could frolic in the beach, or swim along the shallow water. Or we could go to a resort where we could spend the day swimming and spend the night watching the stars or listening to the sound of crickets if it's a place like in Majayjay, Laguna with the river water gently cascading down the streams. That was so much fun for my kids Karen and Kristen and Dad.

How I missed the time when we siblings were together at home in the Philippines, with both parents still alive and we spent the summer in a Los Banos resort. That was before our brother Dickson and his family moved to Canada in 1995 for a greener pasture. We always have time as a family to have a reunion during holidays.

Now Carlo is in Australia forced to immigrate there in 2003 because there's not much opportunity at home with a growing family.

Just found out recently that my old time friend from my former hospital has got the big C. Cancer for us in medical profession. This disease really knows no bounds, whether you're young or old, anybody can have it. I felt sad but I wanted to tell her myself that it's not the end of the world. I should know, I survived Cancer of the Breast, Ductal Carcinoma to be exact. Now I'm almost near the home run of 5 years. Pretty soon in November, I'll be released from Oncology Clinic. All my tests are normal, thank God for His mercy.

I wanted to hug and comfort my friend but I'm miles away so I can only offer my sympathy. We are the same girlfriend, we have same stage when I found out, and we both have negative lymph nodes and margin. This is a good prognosis for you, it means they caught it early and you're on your way to recovery. Try not to worry too much, I know it's hard but you can beat it. Our defence from the big C is to have a strong immune system and you can do that if...

Well, I've finally sent my documents for validation to the Irish Review Board for my profession in Radiology/Radiography Technology. All I have to do now is to pray and be patient and to wait. I'm sure that God will give me His best response to my prayer. For I've prayed that if it's His Will for me to pass the validation, so be it. I'll go to Ireland even though I'm kind of scared. Imagine at my age, I'm in my golden years, I still have to learn how to drive. I used to before when I went to driving school but got afraid to try it again after my husband and I had an accident, we were hit by a Saudi car at Dammam road 13 yrs ago on our way back to Riyadh from Aramco.

But if I failed the validation, I'll accept it with grace.

According to my favorite author of the book " The Little Prince", the beauty of the desert is that somewhere it hides a well. True enough, in this season of spring, the vast desert land of Saudi Arabia is fertile because of the small pools of water here and there. Who could have thought that in the desert, flowers bloom everywhere at this time of the year. You see colors of yellow, white and purples.

There's something romantic about the desert that expands for miles and miles under the pale blue sky. It spells serenity and when you're in the middle of this vast sand dunes, you really admire our creator for this beautiful creation. The ripples that the desert sand dances with make us think of the sea. And at night, the stars and the moon shines and dances like a shadow as if calling someone you love from a far distance. It's so quiet here in the desert at night and all you hear is the sound of the winds howling for attention.

Being right here in the middle of the deser...

ANNIVERSARY

Last weekend, we celebrated the 17th anniversary of our church. It was a full day affair honoring God and worshiping Him. To God be the Glory. We had a very spiritual day and with everybody having a good time with our fellowship. The camaraderie was great during the program. Each ministry participated in the program and we had a good laugh.

Who could have thought that our sister Merly will be a rocker, belting out a Christian song and with dancing to beat. And sister Mel is the birit queen with her rendition of Pilita'style of singing. My favorite among the performers is sister Crised who was a performer and a presenter of our achievements at the same time. That's a hard act to beat. All of them participants are very good in their performance. And the audience went wild with the teleserye in real life acted by Kuya Pol, Ate Minnie, Ate Marlyn, Kuya Saul, etc. Don't worry Kuya Pol, we will not disown you for you...
